WHO IS AN ELIGIBLE CONSUMER?

atural or legal persons whose total kWh consumption in the previous calendar year or total kWh consumption in the current year is above the annual limit or the limit set by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) are called eligible consumers.

The limit for becoming an eligible consumer is determined and published by EMRA every year. For 2022, the limit for becoming an “eligible consumer” set by EMRA is 1,100 kWh. Eligible consumers can benefit from advantageous tariff options offered to them through bilateral agreements with electricity suppliers. What is the Eligible Consumer Limit?

The lower limit for the amount of consumption required to become an eligible consumer is updated by EMRA every year. For 2022, the last free consumer sub-limit is 1,100 kWh per year.

How does the process work when my contract with my supplier expires as an eligible consumer?

If the contract with the supplier is terminated for any reason, the supplier applies to the market operator. If the application is made until 24:00 on the last business day before the sixth of the current month, the electricity energy supply of the eligible consumer from the supplier ends on the last day of the current month. If the application is made after this date, the electricity supply of the eligible consumer from the current supplier shall end as of the last day of the following month.
